I am back from a long and eventful weekend, I have been coordinating Monica’s wedding for a while now and finally this pass weekend the planning paid off. Yes, it was just beautiful her theme was Autumn Rainbow with a tough of Disney fantasy flair.
As part of my long to do list, in terms of backing I was in charge of the cakes and cookie favors.
The large wedding cake was just a very simple wedding cake, each tier was a different flavor: marble cake with chocolate buttercream filling, pineapple cake with coconut buttercream filling, vanilla cake with fresh strawberry filling and marble cake with vanilla buttercream filling. It was frosted with vanilla whipped cream.
On other hand the groom’s cake was elaborate and fun.
It was a rich chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling and decorated with fondant and gum paste details. I made three different dragons and finally, perfection. This cake was just perfect; people were lining up to take a picture with the cake. The reception hall was magical by the way it is a beutiful site East of Edden in Monterey.
I met with Monica Sunday as the newly weds were living town. There were really happy and pleased, I am happy that I was able to be part of their very special day.
