I've returned from a lengthy and memorable weekend. For some time now, I've been organizing Monica’s wedding, and this weekend, all that planning finally came together. It truly was stunning, with an Autumn Rainbow theme infused with a hint of Disney magic. Among my many tasks, I was responsible for the cakes and cookie favors.
The large wedding cake was just a very simple wedding cake. Each tier was a different flavor: marble cake with chocolate buttercream filling, pineapple cake with coconut buttercream filling, vanilla cake with fresh strawberry filling, and marble cake with vanilla buttercream filling. It was frosted with vanilla whipped cream.
On the other hand, the groom’s cake was elaborate and fun.
It was a rich chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling and decorated with fondant and gum paste details. I made three different dragons and finally, perfection. This cake was just perfect; people were lining up to take a picture with the cake. The reception hall was magical, by the way, it is a beautiful site East of Edden in Monterey.
I met with Monica on Sunday as the newlyweds were leaving town. They were really happy and pleased. I am happy that I was able to be part of their very special day.
